End of Year Exams
The hall was fully utilized for the whole of November by the Qhayiya matrics to write their final examinations. In order to meet departmental space requirements, we have also had to make the training room available for the overflow of students. This has been a major undertaking, especially on the two occasions when we have had to clear the hall for other events booked a long time ago.
The ORT technology teachers have also written their final exams – squashed like sardines into the training room. They will be mightily relieved to have their weekends to themselves again. There will be an official graduation early in the new year. We will make every effort to ensure that these teachers are used in posts where they can apply their technology training from the beginning of next year.
Special Needs Workshops
Tracy was asked by a Cape Town organization to share her methods of working and the making of her resources with educators from the Cape Metropole region where she participated in a two-day workshop at the end of November.
Enlighten Marimba Performance
The marimbas performed at the fundraising effort for the Cancer Association held at the home of Liz and Francois Marais. The marimba group received many compliments, not just on their playing but on their behaviour as well.
