Big Vision takes computer-based learning into local schools

In the past term Enlighten’s Big Vision project has continued to take computer-based learning into local schools from Fisherhaven to Gansbaai. Using CAMI’s reading, maths and perceptual skills primarily, Big Vision has been working with children as young as five, all the way to grade 10 level.

It has been most rewarding to see the little ones growing in knowledge and ability from week to week, and the fact that the older learners’ pass rates have sky-rocketed.

In addition, Big Vision has continued with its Lego Robotics programmes at the Enlighten centre on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Anyone wandering into the computer lab and downstairs training rooms on these afternoons is met by a whirl of activity and lego creations across the desks.

There is a winter school planned for the end of the July holidays, where Frank Coetzer will be helping learners brush up on their maths skills before tackling the last two terms.
